EVOKE # SCULPTURE

Who likes to spend hours traveling in thumblrs've probably encountered the work of Haroshi . Skateboard aficionado since his teens, the Japanese artist is a demented stand today with 34, and go around behind broken skateboards and their parts and then turn them into large-scale three-dimensional sculptures and simply amazing.

The technique employed by Haroshi most famous is the mosaic of wood, composed of hundreds of fine camadasde decks. After the shapes that fit together are selected (there are several variations on the boards according to the factory, brand, model particular, different techniques for producing ...), they are cut, abraded and polished in accordance with the shape of the sculpture. Interestingly, this creative style is the same used in the production of Japanese classical statues of the Buddhas, which gives the artist's work a more traditional character.

The pieces above are part of a special series that Haroshi produced in partnership with the brand and the distributor HUF skate DLX.
