LEARN TO MAKE YOUR MAGAZINE WITH TEAM + SUM IN STORE NIKE SPORTSWEAR

JAMES Moraes and MATTHEW POTUMATI, journalists of the magazine + SUM talk about the day-to-day a writing and teaching to produce a magazine.


Following the schedule of free events, shop Nike Sporstwear, opened in December last year, presents on days 28 and 29 April Workshop Make your magazine! With the staff of the Journal + Sum.

Under the command of journalists James Moraes and Matthew Potumati, the workshop is divided into two days.

At first, the pair share a little of the history of fanzines, he talks about the operation of writing a magazine and throws out a challenge to do-it-yourselfers. Even on the first day the group is organized by function (editor, writer, photographer, layout artist) and done the meeting agenda. Each participant comes out with a goal for the next meeting.

The second day will be classroom practice. Participants bring their supplies, materials, photographs and illustrations for setting up the magazine. The closing process will be followed strictly. All material will be edited, the layout by hand, using scissors, glue and other materials and, finally, each participant will take home the magazine he created.

About James Moraes and Matthew Potumati:


James Moraes worked in the market for skateboarding for nearly 10 years, was founding creative brands Agacê Skateboarding and Recap Clothing. It is co-founder of Kultur Studio and one of the creators of the project + Sum, which includes a magazine, a portal and a newly opened cultural area.

Matthew Potumati is editor of + Sum and content editor of Kultur Studio. He was a correspondent for Rolling Stone, the G1 and the magazine EleEla U.S.. Rolling Stone also translated interviews Barack Obama, Radiohead, Charles Manson and Bukowski, among others. He was also publisher of books and comics in Conrad, where he coordinated translations of authors such as Hunter Thompson, Robert Crumb, Wu Ming, Lester Bangs and Suehiro Maruo.
